Promised land

Numbers 14: Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. ""If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!"" they complained.3 ""Why is the Lord taking us to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn't it be better for us to return to Egypt?

The Isrealites moaned about entering the promised land - they were fearful and not trusting God. They thought they would be better off going back to slavery in Egypt! Last weekend I was in a real panic about the new job (I had an information overload day in school on the Friday and thought I was not up to the standard they wanted for the job). I was ready to give up and go back to the slavery of optometry! Pauline helped me through that and I now have some proper training and induction in place for the next few Fridays. I nearly turned my back on the promised land!

Interview

So, the letter came this week offering me an interview this Friday. I had thrown down a fleece to God asking that if I got an interview it would be on my day off - perfect!
My daily readings this week were about Paul's conversion - he changed what he WAS doing and did something completely different and also in NLT yearly program it was about Jesus calling his disciples - again, they completely changed their careers at the behest of God. I saw this as confirming what God was about to do...
I got the job!
